'The Roommates' is one of those books that starts off slowly but the pace progressively builds throughout and draws the reader in, not wanting to put it down, until the very end. When one of them suddenly disappears, the trauma of Imo’s recent past comes hurtling back to haunt her. I really invested in the story and enjoyed meeting the four university friends. I found myself having to read just one more chapter before putting the book down for the night so I devoured it quickly. There were moments throughout the book that I thought I had worked out the secrets that were to be revealed, only to be thrown a curveball that changed things in a moment.
I love Rachel's writing style and I can't wait to read her next release. Rachel writes fantastic psychological thrillers and The Roommates is the perfect read to curl up with now the nights are drawing in.
Thank you to the publishers, Harper Fiction, and to Rachel Sargeant for inviting me to take part in the blog tour and for a copy of the book in return for an honest review.
