Blog Tour - The Christmas Invitation by Trisha Ashley

Today I am very excited to be kicking off Bantam Press and Random Things' Blog Tour to celebrate the publication of Trisha Ashley's latest release, The Christmas Invitation.

A brilliant new Christmas novel from the Sunday Times bestselling Trisha Ashley will more than satisfy romantic comedy fans looking for the perfect festive read.

Recovering after an illness Meg is far from in the Christmas mood, in fact she’s hardly aware it’s approaching at all. They didn’t celebrate it where she grew up and she’s never gone in for the tinsel, baubles and mistletoe of it all. But when the opportunity arises to spend the run up to Christmas in the snowy countryside, rather than dreary London, she can’t say she isn’t curious… although she’ll definitely leave before they bring out the turkey.

Tasked with painting two portraits in not very much time, Meg sets to work. Although it doesn’t take long for the magic in the air to begin to make her wonder just a little curious about what a proper family Christmas might be like.

But just as she’s beginning to settle in she spots a familiar face. Lex… more like a missile than a blast from the past. Despite the wonderful festive cheer, Meg suddenly wants nothing more than to get as far away from Lex and their past secrets as she can. But she can’t leave until she’s finished the portraits and discovered what really is so magical about Christmas…

I was very excited to see that Trisha Ashley has a new book out this year and when I saw it was a Christmas themed novel I eagerly awaited it's publication and I have not been disappointed! Trisha Ashley writes fantastic books but her Christmas books are so special and magical.

The Christmas Invitation is a brilliant read and will get all readers into the festive mood. Set in the beautiful English countryside the setting adds to the magic of the occasion and I would love to have been welcomed into Henry and Clara's country abode in the way that Meg was.

Trisha writes great descriptive narrative and I felt myself being transported to The Red House and becoming immersed in the build up to Christmas.

The characters are great and I felt, by the end of the book, that I knew them. They were likeable and I felt myself empathising with Meg and willing her to have a happy ending.

This is a great festive read. Trisha has again created a brilliant read which will get the readers into the festive period. However, this is not only a Christmas read, it is much more, with many  strands to the storyline, all of which intermingle perfectly and had me hooked.

I hope that we have another festive read from Trisha Ashley soon.

Thank you to Bantam Press and Random Things Blog Tours for inviting me to take part in the blog tour and for a copy of the book in return for an honest review.
